ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Explains Kobe’s Take on Trayvon Martin

“And I don’t have a problem with that,” Smith continued, “Me, personally, I definitely think that he was right on point with that. I know a lot of black people are gonna be upset about that…”

“And are upset,” Arsenio jumped in. “Black Twitter went crazy…”

“When I give a damn, I’ll let you know,” Smith shot back, drawing some gasps in the crowd.

I guess ESPN is slightly less than 100% terrible.

He also said this after Rob Parker called RGIII a “cornball brother:”

Stephen A. Smith came on directly after Parker and appeared as the voice of reason, saying “I’m uncomfortable with where we just went. RGIII, the ethnicity, the color of his fiance is none of our business, it’s irrelevant, he can live his life any way he chooses… I don’t judge someone’s blackness based on those types of things.”

Stephen A Smith also nailing it.

This how I’m feeling right now. It’s really that simple..just do it. Prove to yourself that you can, that you will.

Perhaps, I would’ve been sensitive to certain things and take things seriously when I shouldn’t have. Frankly, I look back at my younger years and noticed that I operated much better when I removed expectations from the equation. By introducing expectations, I was adding unnecessary stress and pressure upon myself that I didn’t need. Simply, I just want to enjoy the process of creation. I can give a fuck less about criticism and those who want to chime in their two cents on how things “should” be as opposed to what they really are. I’m in this to be a master, not a perfectionist. Honestly, I’m free when I’m not trying to be perfect. I can’t be something I’m not, better yet, something that simply doesn’t exist. I don’t care about looking stupid, nor am I scared of making mistakes creatively because I’ve proven to myself time and time again that I’m a wise, independent individual who doesn’t rely on the approvals of others to validate my self-worth. No Ego.

If you deserve better, does that mean I deserve less?

As time passed, I learned that a woman can’t stand a man who is lazy. If a man is slacking on provisioning, she won’t feel secure in some aspects. Motivated by revenge, Geronimo would travel in upwards of 45 miles with his Apache warriors, sometimes on foot in order to raid Mexican camps (fighting with spears, arrows, and hands while the Mex had guns) to FEED his tribe. Sometimes he was successful, in some cases he failed but judging by his actions, he was the definition of a true man. Frankly, this has inspired my work ethic such a great deal.

Truth Hurts

Some folks weakness is hearing the truth, some aren’t strong enough to hear the truth. Hence, you end up pacifying them with lies to keep them stable.
